Suzanne Handal is a “live foodist” with an extensive “live food” background; having studied and taught “live foods” for more than 35 years.  Her early mentor was Dr. Ann Wigmore, the godmother of “living foods.”  Through Dr. Ann, Suzanne learned not only to go back to nature, but that nature never fails or abandons us.  Dr. Ann also taught her that we have forgotten that the earth in its natural state has a tremendous capacity to nurture and heal.  Our magnificent Creator has provided that natural means to regain our wholeness if we don’t ignore Mother Nature’s laws.

After over 10 years of studying and practicing “live foods,” Suzanne began to grow wheatgrass, buckwheat greens, and sunflower greens.  Her neighbors began to ask if they could purchase these grasses and greens as well as other “live foods.”  Within 2 short months, Suzanne found herself providing the “live food” needs for over 30 people.  Additionally, she was also preparing seed and nut cheeses, sprouted salads, Rejuvelac, “live” crackers and breads, raw food pies, and more.  Her clients repeatedly told Suzanne that their doctors were telling them to continue doing whatever they were doing as it seemed to be working.  She saw not only physical healing, but mental, emotional, and spiritual healing as well.  She saw that with persistence, Nature would restore the human organism to wholeness.  At this same time, some of the same people would also bring Suzanne their dying plants which she would nurture with “live foods.”  She then would observe their pale leaves turn to rich green.  Bacteria, fungus, or mold disappeared, as a new life began to emerge.

To lend more credence to “live foods,” Suzanne decided to work at the largest health food store on the island to get more background in health.  From there, the decision was made to go to school in Chinese Medicine and become an acupuncturist.  After graduation, she opened the widely acclaimed “Wild and Raw” in 1997, which offered a “live food” deli/restaurant, “live food” store, and an organic juice bar.  For those seeking the benefits of this diet, she wanted the foods to be readily available, in a similar manner that she had distributed foods in the 80’s.  Her foods are delicious with unique creations enjoyed by many, including Dr. Gabriel Cousens and David Wolfe.

Suzanne has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and possesses a license as a “Marriage, Family and Child Counselor.”  In her early years, she designed and manufactured ladies clothing.  Currently she is a licensed acupuncturist in private practice, doing “live food” consultations, and prescribing “live” herbal formulas and “live” nutrition to her clients.  She enjoys gardening and growing “food”, as well as preparing them in her kitchen.  She is now offering her fabulous gourmet foods to those who come to visit her at Vacation Inn Paradise.

Suzanne is committed to teaching others about our reciprocal relationship with Mother Nature, and is now offering her vacation packages in an environment where others can experience and observe Mother Nature and “the living foods” lifestyle.
